Therapy Dogs, Singapore (TDS) is a non-profit
voluntary organisation set up by a group of caring dog-owners who seek to share
the unconditional love and affection of their dogs with society's
underprivileged and to provide pet-assisted therapy (PAT) to meet their physical
and emotional needs.
TDS was formed in early 2004 by volunteers
including professionals and homemakers to retirees and students. We provide
regular PAT sessions to 7 adopted nursing homes and health institutions as well
as PAT visits on an ad hoc basis.
Our Mission:
- To share the love and joy of our volunteers
and their dogs.
- To enhance the lives of people with special
needs, including social and physical needs.
- To raise public awareness of people with
disabilities and of the role of therapy dogs in assisting them to live more
confidently and with greater dignity.
