16 December 2007 - TDS Recruitment Drive at Telok Kurau Park

Hi everyone TDS participated in the "X'mas With Your Dog" event organized by the Joo Chiat CCC and Telok Kurau NC, as part of our effort to recruit more volunteers. Many thanks to Pearly, our emcee, who did a great job promoting TDS on stage. Her presentation involved the audience guessing the breeds of some of our dogs, going on stage to meet our dogs and dressing up 2 of our dogs. In the process, she shared with the audience about pet assisted therapy, its benefits and TDS' goals and objectives. The audience participation helped to keep the presentation enjoyable and informative at the same time, and presented TDS in a good light. Our volunteers and dogs also interacted with the members of the public at the event, giving out TDS brochures and encouraging them to join us. Polar also pulled the cart, giving free rides to some children and dogs.

 

Some of our dogs also did TDS proud by winning prizes in the various competitions -- Sam, for the fastest eating (what else?!), large dog category (1 ^st); Silky, in "Simon says" (1^st);  Grace, in the "longest wagging tail", small dog category, (1^st). Congratulations!

It was a very fruitful time as the public was given a chance to learn more about TDS
