Notes and highlights
It was an active afternoon. We brought lots of 'kits' with us to entertain the residents at BHID, ranging from hula hoops, cones/hoops, puzzles to butterfly clips.
- JJ was a hit with Gabriel, one of the BHID residents. He took her on around the multipurpose hall, and love feeding her treat. JJ also tried out walking through a hula hoop for the first time. Well done!!
- Several residents were seen grooming Reegan and Quinton - putting mini butterfly clips in their fur. This activity is great for the residents to practice their finger coordination when opening the clips.
- Another group of residents started with Soo Fen doing some puzzles, after which Shirley, Yaohui Jennifer and Dairen joined in to help.
- After awhile, the residents raided my goodie bag and took out one of the Nina Ottoson dog's game and tried to do it themselves. They even took the cone and hoops to play on their own :).
- Our observers were also great with our dogs. Vanessa was handling Sable with ease, while Joanne and Maria sat with one of the residents who used to loved to sit with Silky and has now taken a liking to Reegan.
She laughed in delight once Soo Fen cunningly introduced Reegan to her, hoping that she will take to Reegan as she looks very similar to Silky. It was a great idea as she loves it, holding on to Reegan and smiling happily.
She was then encouraged by Joanne and Maria to put some butterfly clips on Reegan.
- Shaun our new volunteer was a natural with Quinton, encouraging several residents to play with the clips and dressed Quinton up like a christmas tree.
- General mood: There was so many things going on around the room that at the end of the hour, no one was ready to go. I had to go around to gather them as everyone was reluctant to leave. It was a great afternoon, and the residents and volunteers
alike enjoyed their time there.
Once again, my heartfelt thanks to all who came and helped in making the visit a success! See you at the next visit!
Warm regards,
Fiona Seow
with Reegan & Quinton

Notes and highlights
Our visit that Friday afternoon was one of our most light-hearted and joyous in recent weeks:
- Groups of residents were seen grooming Reegan and Sable - putting mini butterfly clips in their fur - and holding what seemed like very serious discussions with Valerie, Fiona, Shaun and Liwen on where the clips should go.
- Another group of residents - the ones whom we had noticed in previous sessions as the more serious and reserved ones - were seen sitting on the floor stroking Ollie. He seemed to exude a certain calmness which these residents were lapping up. Many sported big smiles on their faces when we left.
- Nana seemed to have attracted the more physically challenged wheel-chair bound residents who were eager to participate in games of fetch and walks around the gym
- General mood: It was light-hearted and very positive, filled with good cheer and very encouraging observations. The residents obviously enjoyed the companionship of our dogs.
Once again, my heartfelt thanks to all who came and helped in making the visit a success! See you at the next visit!
Warm regards,
Julie

Notes and highlights
Our visit was indeed meaningful; special moments and observations include:
- Alice was looking very well. All the volunteers enjoyed talking to her. She remembered Valerie despite not seeing her 2 months. We were all impressed with her memory and had a lovely afternoon chatting with her.
- Nana was looking very sharp with her bags on her back, while her owner Julie was busy chatting with the residents.
- Chou Chou was especially eager to go to see all the residents and ended up sitting down at most times looking pretty for the residents.
- Most of the residents were not in the mood to walk, and were just contented sitting, patting the dogs and chatting with the volunteers.
Once again, my heartfelt thanks to all. Hope to see you at the next visit!
Warmest,
Fiona Seow

Notes and highlights
Our visit was indeed meaningful; special moments and observations include:
- We had two special visitors from the South East Community development council: Lang Yee Chuan and Teo Poh Poh. They were here to observe our TDS session. This is in view that TDS can hold some activities at their many elderly centers.
- Obedience demo :Charlie with Quinton, and Ray with Cadbury were busy showing off their dogs' obedience skills with down stays, fetch and various other tricks.
- Special activity: Fiona also brought some cones and hoops for special activity. Hats off to Julie and Nana who were great at encouraging a few of the residents to put the hoops over the cones, along with Reegan who would bark every time they did it successfully.
- General mood: Despite it was a hot afternoon, all the volunteers were hard at work. Frances and Ollie did tremendously well on their first visit and we hope to see them in future visits.
The main star of the show was Piggy, she was the center of attention with the elderly ladies at Thong Teck. One resident in particular was so taken with her, that she held on to her for most of the visit and was laughing merrily.
Once again, my heartfelt thanks to all. See you at the next visit!
Warmest,
Fiona Seow
