Asian Women’s Welfare Association School (AWWA)
The Asian Women’s Welfare Association (AWWA) is a registered voluntary welfare organisation in Singapore and a full member of the National Council of Social Service. We are also an approved Institution of Public Character authorised to receive tax-deductible donations in Singapore. We have been providing services to families, the elderly, children and young people with special needs since 1970.
AWWA provides six services namely, the Educational Services, Elderly Services, Integration Services, Family Services and Caregivers Support with the mission of empowering the disadvantaged in maximising their potential to lead dignified and independent lives.
TDS supports the following programmes for children with special needs under the AWWA Educational and Integration Services.
AWWA School offers special education to children aged from 7 to 18 years (e.g. challenging behaviours, autism spectrum disorder or other special needs – physical disability and cases of children with multiple disability).
AWWA SMILES Program offers specialised after school care for children with special needs from 7 to 18 years old (e.g. therapy, social support etc after school hours).
AWWA Early Years Centre provides early intervention services for infants and children aged below 6 years (e.g. Speech or motor delay or Autism Spectrum Disorder etc).
These 3 programmes focus on education, therapy (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and music therapy), social work and counselling services, and after school care for children with special needs.
